These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of amoluz.com (“the Site”) and any purchases you make from Amo Luz (“we,” “us,” “our”). By accessing the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.
We’ve written these in plain language because nobody enjoys reading legalese — but they’re still legally binding.
1. About Amo Luz
Amo Luz is a print-on-demand bookish apparel brand based in Ashburn, Virginia, USA. We design book lover shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts that are printed on demand by our fulfillment partners and shipped directly to you. We operate through amoluz.com and do not maintain retail locations.

2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to make a purchase on amoluz.com. By placing an order, you represent that you meet this requirement. Minors may browse the Site but must have a parent or guardian complete any purchase.
3. Products & orders
Product descriptions
We do our best to describe and photograph our products accurately. However, because all products are printed on garment-dyed blanks, colors may vary slightly between batches and may appear differently depending on your screen settings. Minor color variation is inherent to the garment-dye process and is not considered a defect.
Print-on-demand model
All Amo Luz products are printed on demand — they’re made after you order them, not pulled from inventory. This means every item is produced specifically for you. This model affects our cancellation policy (see section 5) and handling times (see our shipping policy).
Pricing
All prices are listed in US dollars (USD) and are subject to change without notice. Prices do not include applicable sales tax, which will be calculated at checkout based on your shipping address. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors — if an item is listed at an incorrect price, we’ll notify you before processing the order.
Order acceptance
Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason, including but not limited to product unavailability, pricing errors, or suspected fraud. If we cancel your order, you’ll receive a full refund.
Product availability
Because our products are printed on demand, most designs are always available. However, specific blank colors or sizes may occasionally be temporarily unavailable due to supplier stock. If this affects your order, we’ll notify you and offer alternatives or a refund.
4. Payment
All payments are processed through PayPal. By completing a purchase, you agree to PayPal’s User Agreement and Privacy Policy. We accept PayPal balance, linked bank accounts, and major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) through PayPal’s checkout.
Payment is collected at the time of purchase. We do not store your payment information on our servers. For more detail, see our payment methods page.
5. Shipping, cancellations & returns
Shipping, cancellation, and return policies are detailed on their respective pages. By placing an order, you agree to the terms outlined in:
- Shipping Policy — free shipping, handling times, delivery estimates, lost/damaged orders
- Refund & Returns — 60-day returns, exchanges, refund process, custom order exceptions
These policies are incorporated into and form part of these Terms.
6. Custom & personalized products
Our custom book lover shirts allow you to add personalized text (names, book club names, etc.) to our templates. By submitting custom text, you represent that:
- You have the right to use the text you submit
- The text does not infringe on any third party’s intellectual property rights
- The text does not contain offensive, defamatory, or illegal content
We reserve the right to refuse any custom order that violates these guidelines. Custom products are subject to the return limitations described in our refund & returns policy.
7. Intellectual property
Our content
All content on amoluz.com — including but not limited to designs, graphics, text, logos, images, and website layout — is the property of Amo Luz or its licensors and is protected by US and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or commercially exploit any content from amoluz.com without our prior written consent.
Trademarks
“Amo Luz,” the Amo Luz wordmark, and “Wear the Stories You Love” are trademarks of Amo Luz. Use of these trademarks without permission is prohibited.
User content
If you submit content to us (reviews, photos, social media mentions), you grant Amo Luz a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and share that content for marketing and promotional purposes. You retain ownership of your content.
8. Acceptable use
When using amoluz.com, you agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site
- Interfere with or disrupt the Site’s functionality
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Site without permission
- Submit false information when placing orders
- Reproduce or resell our products or designs
- Use our designs for commercial purposes without authorization
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these terms.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
Amoluz.com and all products are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that product colors on screen will exactly match the physical product due to the nature of garment-dyed fabrics and screen display variations.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Amo Luz and its owners, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or purchase of our products — including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill.
Our total liability for any claim related to a purchase shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific product(s) giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Amo Luz, its owners, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party’s rights.
12. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of amoluz.com shall first be resolved through good-faith informal negotiation. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Loudoun County, Virginia, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top. For significant changes, we may notify you by email. Continued use of amoluz.com after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
